Dear friends, As the year comes to a close I’d like to look forward to the year ahead with great promise. We, Chelsea’s Hope, have accomplished so much in terms of raising money for research being done at UCLA, while some of you have raised great amounts of money that was sent to Toronto for the research being done by Dr. Berge Minassian. Our goal is the same, to find a cure for Lafora, to relieve our children of the fate that lies ahead if we do not! Lafora update
I got the following update via email. We have raised nearly $150,000 for UCLA research and the gentamycin treatment is still in the FDA approval stages with hopes that it will happen soon. We are in the process of filing non-profit status so that will enable us to support other research. You can visit the site for all the latest news.

An interesting article
This is an interesting article for a number of reasons it maybe be long but nevertheless it does say a few interesting things for example that the number of genetic diseases is between 4000-6000 and that the list is growing as more mistakes are found.

I am not going to address who is related to the prophet or not as this is not the real story. One of the real stories is the fact that the article talks about the Islamic courts and their acceptance of genetic evidence for example that if the couple are married then the children are the husbands. This is stupid but then religion is stupid.
